Comme tu as du t`en rendre compte les
sites gay d`Istanbul donnent toujours les
memes adresses, les bars, clubs ect...
mais surtout ils ne s`etalent jamais sur les
lieux de drague a Istanbul...

et il y a aussi une raison pour ces sites de
rester en moderation ( lire cela c`est edifiant)
Sur cette liste ce que je te donne:
je ne parle pas de tout les endroits que tu
connais ou que tu trouveras sur ces memes
sites, genre Taksim parc etc ces qq 3/5 lieux
, bars parcs etc... sont rempli de gigolos
pret a te seduire pour du fric!
Sur cette liste je te donne ce que tu ne
trouverais pas avant tres longtemps!
les 6 Hammams de la ville off tourists!
ce sont des hammams locaux avec de
l`action dedans! car 99% des clients sont...des locaux.

les Hammam militaire et le moyen d`y rentrer
( 30/40 mecs en permanence a l`interieur!)
remplis de mecs pres a jouer!
le park frequente a 90% par les militaires...
40 minutes de taksim.
Ce petit port de pecheurs qui ne revent que
de toi le soir car il ne peuvent pas quitter leurs
bateaux, et que la tradition veut qu`ils t`invite a
prendre un verre a bord... avec plus de 100 bateaux
tu as du boulot!

Les tuyaux pour vraiment approcher et draguer
les heteros qui sont d`une differente culture de
la votre.les 2 sites de construction ou des mecs
par dizaine attendent de l`action! les deux hotels
gay digne de ce nom, et seulement un est tenu par
un gay.
Bref, la liste contient 30 pages que j`ai elabore au fil
du temps!
Une chose est sure, c`est que les qq adresses dans
les sites gay D`istanbul sont completement caduque
les 7 hammams par exemple que l`on voient sur
la plupart des sires sont obsolete! il n`y a plus d`action
gay chez eux et pour causes...

Un apres midi sur la rive asiatique d`Istanbul...

Je vais vous raconter une histoire toute fraîche que jai eu en Septembre dernier dans un des hammams à Istanbul du cote asiatique, c`est dailleurs un de mes 8 Hammams que je divulgue sur ma liste secrete! il faut vraiment se tromper de route pour arriver dans ce Hammam, car il ne parait bien sur sur aucuns guide ( comme beaucoups d`autres) a Istanbul.
Je me promenais sans but,car Istanbul c'est une ville que j'adore et que je connais bien, donc ce que j'aime le plus, c'est flâner en dehors des circuits touristiques, sentir et vivre la vraie vie des istanbuliotes.Ke suis blond (si tu vois ma photo je ressemble dailleurs a un Turc je suis grand et et sans avoir du tout un look PD, (au contraire je suis plutôt Jeans-T-shirt-Bascket) je fais un peu tâche a Istanbul comme si les locaux savaient que je ne suis etranger!
Inévitablement j'attire les regards.

Si vous saviez le nombre d'aventures que jai eu avec les plus improbables de ces hommes. Ca passe par les taximans, le jardinier de l'hôtel, le gardien au musée d`istanbul, le machiniste du bateau lors de la croisière sur le Nil, 3 policiers d `Istanbul, un vendeur de tapis à Izmir, le petit « chauffeur de dromadaire que j'ai branlé, moi assis derrière lui, et ce pendant la visite du plateau des pyramides, le petit guide qui m'a si bien pris a Sultamahmet, et tout ces beaux marins pecheurs dans ce petit port de reparation a 50 minutes d`Istanbul ou quand je vais la bas maintenant ces beaux gosses me font signe avec leurs mouchoirs rouge de pecheurs pour m`attirer sur leurs bateaux! ( sur ma liste ) et toutes ces aventures que j'ai eu dans les arrières boutiques en essayant des chaussures ou un pantalon... ( un des meilleurs plans que de faire les boutiques avec un seul vendeur dedans, si tu fais exactement ce qu`il faut c`est fabuleux de nombre de mecs...que tu peux te taper!

enfin j'en passe et des pires et des meilleures !

Tous les regards étaient tournés vers moi, et bien que je ne pouvais comprendre, je savais que certain d'autre eux parlaient de moi. D'autres sans discrétion, se frottaient l'entre jambe tout en me fixant des yeux ! ma crainte dans ces cas la est de ne pas etre trop amical...

Le propriétaire des lieux me conduit dans la plus belle cabine, et je pouvais sentir son regard apprécier mes fesses en passant devant lui !
Le garçon était pas mal du tout et devait avoir dans les 25 ans, Grand, musclé mais pas trop. Il avait une toison qui descendait en triangle jusqu'à son nombril. Il disparu quelques minutes, me laissant là, seul ...
Je pouvais voir des ombres passer et s'arrêter devant ma porte. Des clients venaient tout simplement me mater sans complexe à travers les persiennes. C'était surréaliste, je me sentais comme une attraction..
Soudain j'entendis des paroles dans le couloir qui me semblait être une dispute. Un grognement suivi d'un silence !

( apres 6pm,ce hammam est tres buzy) et il y a une ecole de sport tres pres ( Tennis/field/ basket..) et le soir pendant 2 heures,de 6 a 8 , 15/20 mecs viennent ici pour se doucher et transpirer car le complexe voisin n`a pas de douches...
entre 1 et 10 je mettrai 8 pour ce Hammam! les meilleurs restent le Hammams militaire, il y a en a 2 , le hammam du port de peche, ( 25 mtes en taxi de Taksim) et bien sur celui de L`universitee, 40 minutes de Taksim ( env 15 euro) mais pour 15 euro tu t`offre une visite avec 40/50 etudiants dedans!!!

Ma premiere experiance dans un hammam militaire...
My first military hammam cruising in istanbul...

J`habite a Istanbul depuis 1991 et je suis Suisse,la plupart des infos sur les sites gay d`Istanbul sont très rarement mise a jour...Mais si tu recherche vraiment de l`adrénaline et que tu n`a pas de temps a perdre... Il y a des endroits de drague que tout les locaux dragueurs defois connaissent fort bien,mais dont ils ne dévoileront pas forcement les infos!

Most of the blue theatres (adult) are closed now in Istanbul, 3 out of 11 gay bars (the one i really like, but I am sure there is more!) are closed also, All gay Hamams "gay" oriented are verry strict concerning concerning "gay" action because these same Hammams where on gay guide for years... (you have been told that some "gay oriented are still ok (and i agree with that) but do you really care to go to a hammam for 4/6 hours and just exchange eyes contact?

Or in the best scenario (Taksim Park) having guy`s coming and approaching you just for your wallet? With a embrouille at the end..

(on vous diras que certains "orientée gay" sont encore ouvert (et je suis d'accord avec cela), mais avez-vous vraiment le temps de vous rendre dans un hammam pour 4 / 6 heures, et juste vous regarder avec d`autres mecs en chiens de faïence ? Ou, dans le meilleur scénario (Taksim) vous faire approcher par des mecs (mignon c`est vrai) pour votre portefeuille? avec une embrouille à la fin ??

Again, Some places that used to be good like many Adult theatres and Hamam`s are now closed...

and most of the best places in Istanbul ( even before) are out of the "Touristic" area, eventually near or out of the town! That way you avoid any "tourists" predator and you deal with the real dudes.

Sometime`s that same population don`t really understand how you got there! but as least they know why you are there because those spots are dedicated to Men/Men action!

Encore une fois .... Des lieux qui furent top comme le cinéma Ruya et certains Hamams sont maintenant fermés ... et la plupart des meilleurs endroits à Istanbul sont hors "zone touristique" , éventuellement à proximité ou à l'extérieur de la ville! De cette façon, vous vous eloignez prédateur "de touristes" et vous evolue avec des locaux qui peuvent etres fabuleux!

Ces memes locaux ne comprendront pas forcement comment vous y êtes la !mais au moins ils savent pourquoi vous êtes là parce que ces endroits sont dédiés generalement aux plaisirs des hommes!

I can give you the most of the best "best places" in Istanbul, to get straight "active" military guy`s ( 40 minutes out of Istanbul) where at night you have a military Hamam and where for $10 "Tips" you can get in with no questions.

It is very difficult to get into those authentic hamam`s not being Turk and this is one important fact in Istanbul, Tourist and Touristes are supose to stay into a certain "Circuit" in the city and goes to visit Monumemts, big Bazaar, and then of course to the 3/4 same Hammams and clubs didicated to "Tourist"

At a walking distance from this military base, where i used to go once a week to a cool theatre, i discover 2 years ago a Military Hammam by coincidence i guess!

This Hammam was Private for years and the military departement bought it 6 years ago due to the proximity of the military base and the hi- frequentation of military guy`s in duty,this Hammam then become a Military Hammam.

i used to meet a handsome soldier at the base for 2 years, and its one night he was buzz that he decided to invite me there!

Being with him was of course no problems for me to get in... for a nice $10.00 tips!
I just got the idea to return there with him 3 times for the guard at the entrance getting usualy your military card, to recognize me !

The Hammam is big, and first choc was the crowd inside, 40/50 soldiers, having thea, playing Bagamon, massaging each others...
I decided to act cool and low profil (i am a big guy!) and decided to study the place for a bit.

The only thing that amuse me other then watching 50 verry good looking guys,was Drag queen in there, 27/29 years old, very feminine and very friendly with everybody!
the guy was running the place i could tell sexwize...

Je peux vous donner les meilleurs de la plupart des "meilleurs endroits" à Istanbul, pour vous amuser pour de bon avec de vrais"actif" Militaires par exemple(40 minutes d'Istanbul), où la nuit vous avez un Hamam Militaire et où pour $5 " vous pouvez sans questions etre introduit par la bonne personne considerant que si vous n`etes pas Turc il est tres difficile de penetrer ce genre d`endroits. un autre hammam est lui aussi tres valable surtout le soir entre 8pm et 2am du matin,lui aussi a 10 minutes de marche de la base militaire.
Il m`aura fallu des mois et des mois avant de comencer a avoir des affaires avec les Militaires! pour enfin un jour rencontrer ce superbe mec de 25 ans et avoir une affaire avec lui 7/8 fois toujours au meme endroits! pouJe peux vous donner les meilleurs de la plupart des "meilleurs endroits" à Istanbul, pour vous amuser r finallement un soir m`emmener dans ce hammam resemblant au reve le plus fou que je n`ai jamais immagine! et ou jusqu`a 2 am,un mec gay(voir plus drag queen sortie du film"Brezil" prenait soin de 50/70 gars! a son gres! selon son humeur
et ces goutd du jour,me regardant penetrer l`endroit comme si j`etais un "marsien",il etait entre
evanouissement/colere/histerie/et malice par ailleur!
Notre fameux "homme de service" m`a pour $5 et un coca cola (important) "Accepte pour pour la soiree,poussant les hommes ici et la,et m`inviter a m`assoir pour voir ce que j`avais dans le ventre (j`immagine) . J`allais ce soir la rencontrer les plus beaux mecs du pays,puis ce qu`ils etaient tous sans exeption Militaire,et que par consequent il venaient des quatre coins du pays!

The first guy was probably 24 years old, and one of those beauty you cannot even picture in your mind, his body was perfect but his face also was. I first was very nervous to just "be in" according the very social "military" "guy`s atmosphere" inside! That ... incredible as well
"drag queen" took me to one of the shower in the back Hamam, and I did wait maybe 10 minutes... I had no clothes on, just my Hamam pare on me, and he came once to tell me not to talk with any of the guy`s who will visit me...

Le premier type avait probablement 23/24 ans, et c`était l`une de ces beauté que je n`aurais même pas imaginè même dans mes grands jours, son corps était parfait,et son visage de mec avec encore des traits d`ado me libérant un sourire entendu ,en plus du fait que je rentrais pour la première fois dans le cercle si intime et fraternel (plutôt ambiance salle de muscu heure de pointe)de ce Hammam .
L`atmosphère" y était définitivement viril,et très joueuse,en tout cas très militaires de par les tatoos et les coupes de cheveux très "Marines"de tout les mecs.

C`est alors que encore sous le choc de ma découverte n`osant trop anticiper la situation , qu`un mec très "drague queen" plutôt genre "égocentrique"débarqua devant moi,mi figue mi raisin pour m`escorter jusque`a la douche,ajustant lui même ma serviette a ma taille tout en me parlant en Turc comme pour me donner les "règles du jeux" ou "règles de la maison".

Il me chuchote,puisLève la voix,s`énervant presque,puis rechuchote pour finalement me mettre une caresse dans mes cheveux..
Je suis nerveux,je flipe un peu! Il y a l`adrénaline du chasseur que je suis bien sur!
J'`entend les rires de 30 gars dans les bains juste derrière moi,et si j`étais dans un mauvais film? Je suis reste la comme cela, assis seul dans cette très grande douche et notre "Drague queen" est revenu pour m`expliquer d`un geste de mains " Ne parle pas " "no talk"! Avec les gars qui passeront par "ici" comprenant par ma douche?

C`est encore 10 minutes plus tard q`un mec débarque devant moi dans la douche,très relax,très félin,superbe sans qu`il le sache probablement,avec ce premier geste de toucher très lentement mon visage en signe d`amitié? De domination? De séduction?

When I did realize that another guy same age same beauty, was already standing in front of me, his eyes trying to tell me.."go fast, I cannot wait!" .... I will never forget those eyes!

One after another... another after another, this took me 1 hour later to deal with 9 guy`s ...

The very interesting situation was that the "Drag queen" was regimenting very close from the entrance of the shower`s with a line of.. 10/13 other guy`s exchanging money, giving change, razing his voice to one or another,and regulating the flow to "that bitch"in the shower!

That "drag queen"was doing his business on my back moneying me!

24 guy`s later, one of the military "superiors"...I guess got in, and I was told with no management by my "pimp (the Drag Queen)" to leave from a back door...

I, of course asked him if I could come back... and he said in english "no tomorrow, day after yes" !

And I did become since 2 years now the "official European Bitch" of the military Hamam.

Il touche mes cheveux et mon visage pendant quelques secondes, parlant Turk ...

Et à ce moment-là je pense qu'il me dit pas mal de "noms d`oiseaux, touche mon dos pendant un certain temps et commence avec beaucoup de confiance a m`allumer très sérieusement...
Son visage poupin devint un visage d`homme,son regard joueur devint très vite un regard plutôt"moi on ne m`en compte pas" ou " prend ce que tu veux de moi,mais tu as 5 minutes!" Mon cerveau n`imprime plus! Il est au ralenti ,je le regarde sans le regarder et je me regarde leregarder, essayant de déguster cet instant...Réalisant que je venais de toucher un très beau meuble que l`on normalement touche pas!
Ce fut très rapide (4 minutes!) Mais je suis passe très prés de la planète "Nirvana" je ne sais plus ou j`habite, ma tête n`a pas encore refroidie sous les jets d`eau chaud de ma douche qu`un autre mec arrive déjà prés de moi....
Même âge,même regard,plus grand,moins joueur,plus "placide" mais pas "novice"!juste quelque mots comme " tu dois être rapide" ou "ne déguste pas trop ce que tu fais"Les mêmes gestes, le même silence de la part de l`homme qui arrête son horloge biologiquePour 5 minutes de plaisir.
Un autre après l`autre, et encore un autre après l`autre... Pour m`installer dans ce "mood". peut etre 1 heure, peut être moins! Je suis comme un enfant qui vient de se piéger dans un magasin de bonbons!!!
Et j`en suis a mon neuvième bonbon Maintenant... Tous honnêtement très beaux,très généreux...
La situation très intéressante est que notre "Drag queen" est très proche de l'entrée des douches, "régimentaire" une ligne de .. 10/13 autres gars, j`entend bien des bruits d`argent et puis cette voix ,très "je suis chez moi" "vous savez comment ca marche les gars" levant la voix, de "brefs éclats de rire de ce groupe de mecs ...
24 hommes plus tard! Je fais vraiment partis des meubles! Mon "entremetteur" me lance un savon au sol,et me fait signe de me laver,me rincer,et de dégager!

Je prend volontairement un profil très bas,et me montre très coopératif,je tente tout de même un "est ce que je peux revenir?" pour me faire rétorquer un "pas demain,non" et aussi un "après demain, oui " . Il ne me laissera pas sortir (et retraverser le Hammam pour revoir encore une fois quelques 24 hommes que je venais de satisfaire .
Ne pas reproduire l`effet "harem Militaires" ou encore pour ne pas me laisser me Rappeler a leurs bons souvenirs!

Notre "dragqueen" connaît bien son boulot! Et sait probablement que dans ce genre de situations, pas de place a la provocation Ou au plaisir, a mon plaisir... En tout les cas pas ici, dehors si je veux, plus tard surLe chemin du retour....
"Malik" notre "drag queen" me tapote le dos comme un ami ,ne me remercie pas,ne le remerciant pas, je détecte dans son regard une certaine "satisfaction" "nerveuse" mais "amicale" et enfin "prometteuse" pourrais je Devenir un des leurs? Le 'régulier de service" !!!!

The new relocation of the cinema the "Ruya" (50 minutes south Istanbul with 100 men`s all afternoon watching porno are waiting for you ( same ambiance then "Ruya" if not better because individual room as well inside for $3.00 !!!

Also the "Kurd" district where the most gorgeous men`s on the planet! in a sport/internet/comunauty bar , where you can get a boy every 15 minutes just smiling!

Another military base!

Another military base evening park/wood where you have permanently 20/30 military men`s waiting for a pleasure in the wood! (1.20 minutes from Istanbul by bus $3.00)It`s a paradise after 10 pm ! a lot of kurd boy`s as well in that wood.
You need to walk for about 15 minutes across what i will call "nowhere!"
to finally arrive to a very small wood/forest with 2/3 "donation ladies" operating there
The "donation ladies"usually ask for a donnation to those military men`s ...
but with a good donation, they offer you 5/7 Hercules!

The Hotels situation, let`s say the true!

You have only one Hotel capable to deal with your curiosity and emotions and Adrenaline in Istanbul. The owner is verry cool, and European also. It is very important to stay at the right place in Istanbul,because 99% of hotels will refuse you to invite anybody in your room...one called ''Petrol" is published on certains gay sites as "open" they are nice people, but again if invite a local to your room it will be "no"! Why is it so difficult to bring a guest in your room? because they (hotels management) don`t want you to be in danger, and also because they follow the the "rules" from the Tourism bureau of Istanbul. Only this hotel as of today will be "very arranging for you" the room are very cosy and the service very "old Empire" let`s say. the management verry friendly! and again, The owner spake: Turc,french,Italian verry well,and....he is gay European.

My opinion about Istanbul
And this is only my opinion! but after all, leaving and cruising there for many years now!

You have 2 Istanbuls... the "tourists" one and the off road one! same for Paris, New york etc...

You need to use the "off road one" if you will,to be able to make the best "encounter" no camera minimum of money,no jewelry etc...

Turks people`s at 99% will do something with you , a drink somewhere, walking in the street , and smile to you, if they don`t speak English! and if you don`t speak Turkish.

Don`t act "Gay" or if you will , the men need first to digest that you are a foreigner , and that you are friendly, free, curious, not totally stupid, and... also that you are "looking for fun"

Steam rises new in Turkey’s historic bath houses

ISTANBUL - Old Istanbul’s bath houses hosted scheming Pashas and shapely concubines before modern bathrooms sent them into decline, but their appeal to tourists and the growth of the spa industry promise a revival.
Developers are spending millions of dollars buying and restoring Istanbul’s finest hammams, or steam baths, after decades of neglect. They are banking on rising tourist numbers and a surge of interest among Turks in Ottoman customs.
“There is a good future for hammams. People have realised they are a strong business and there is a lot of interest in buying or managing them,” said Aydin Bulut, manager of the Suleymaniye hammam.
His bath was built in 1557 by Mimar Sinan, the prolific architect behind Istanbul’s most celebrated structures.
Price tags are high. Istanbul’s Cagaloglu Hammam -- built in 1741 and boasting Germany’s Kaiser Wilhelm II and Florence Nightingale among visitors -- is on sale for $16 million according to estate agents Remax Turkey.
The smaller Ayakapi hammam, also built by Sinan but not currently used as a bath, is for sale for $3 million, they said.

Tourists are keen to experience them, their imaginations fuelled by tales of the sensuous Orient. Turkey had 26.3 million visitors in 2008 and aims to attract an annual 63 million by 2023 with a programme to boost infrastructure and market new destinations and vacation themes, including health and wellness.

An invigorating dousing with water follows, and visitors are left to stretch out on the hot marble stone at the centre of the chamber, heated from beneath by air circulating from a wood-burning furnace.
The look of bliss on their faces speaks for itself.
“I think hammams could be fashionable again within a very short period if they are nicely run,” said 33-year-old entrepreneur Ergin Iren. “Tourists would come first, but then Turks would come too.”
He had never been to a traditional hammam until a friend showed him a disused bath for sale in Istanbul’s old city.

“He thought of turning it into a disco. I felt so sad about this it started me thinking about old hammams. I read up on the history, how they worked, and then dreamed of buying one.”
In 2005 Iren got his chance, buying a bath house built in the 1580s by Sinan. Scaffolding now surrounds the Kilic Ali Pasa hammam in Tophane by the Bosphorus. Iren hopes it will open in 2010 as an exclusive, likely reservation-only hammam.
The hammam tradition developed in Muslim countries where Islam emphasised cleanliness and washing, but independently they fulfilled an important social function, with men and women spending hours inside gossiping and relaxing.
Sometimes, as in the case of the Kilic Ali Pasa hammam, they were part of a mosque complex, hence their magnificent architecture: they were intended to provide an income source to the religious institutions through entrance fees.

“For women especially, they were a place to get away from their families and if a husband couldn’t pay for a trip to the hammam at least once every two weeks it was a grounds for divorce,” said Ergin. “They were a very important space like a beauty salon or a spa today.”
Brides would meet female friends in hammams ahead of their weddings, and the Sultan’s concubines and favourites would take to the hammam to make themselves most fragrant and alluring.
For men it was a place to socialise and repose -- also reputedly to indulge in more decadent pleasures. Sultan Selim II is said to have died in 1574 after slipping and banging his head in a hammam while drunk.

If also planning a visit to the Egyptian Spice Market (highly recommended), then ensure you leave from the Misirçarsi Gate. This is the nearest exit to the market, approximately 1 kilometer’s walk away.

6. Buying Carpets and Kilims

The best buys are those which are unique to the Grand Bazaar. Bear in mind that Turkish people do not normally shop here, they come only for its special desserts from well-known Turkish names such as Haci Bozun or Gulluoglu. Buy carpets and other high value items from the modern commercial outlets around Istanbul, where a certificate of origin, guarantee and overseas shipping can be relied upon. However, a kilim (small Turkish rug) from the bazaar will fit into your suitcase easily and provides a memorable and useful souvenir.
The Egyptian Spice Bazaar

The Egyptian Spice Bazaar offers a more authentic shopping experience and the opportunity to rub shoulders with the local Turks. It is located 1 kilometer from the Kapaliçarsi Gate of the Grand Bazaar, and is situated at the foot of the Galata Bridge in the Yeni Cami complex.
Despite its name, its 100 plus shops sell more than spices. Alongside the selection of saffron, cumin, red pepper and the like, there are dried fruits, nuts, Turkish Delight, flavored teas and Baklava, a delicious, traditional honey and nut pastry.

1. How to Buy Spices

Purchase spices and other food stuffs by the gram or kilo. Turkish Delight can be boxed up and vacuum packed for the trip back home.

2. Prices Get Lower

Resist the temptation to buy from shops near the entrance. Prices get lower and lower the further inside the market you go.

3. Buy in Practical Amounts

Select spices carefully as quality varies between vendors. Colors should be deep, not dull, and their aroma should be strong and powerful. Be aware that spices start to loose their strength after six months, so buy in practical amounts.

4. Istanbul Flower Market and Galata Bridge

Take the opportunity to visit the neighboring Flower Market and watch the many fishermen on the Galata Bridge, over the Bosphorous. This area is called the Golden Horn and offers a good view of old Istanbul.

The Basilica Cistern
Also known as the Sunken Palace, it was used as the water reservoir for the Byzantine Great Palace during the reign of Justinian in 532. Inside the huge building, there is a few feet of water but wooden walkways have been built for visitors. There are 336 columns supporting a cathedral ceiling and some of them were taken from torn-down temples. The interior of the building has special dim lighting and classical music is played to create an eerie atmosphere. It is used as a gallery during the International Istanbul Arts Biennial held September-October.

The Blue Mosque

The mosque was built for Sultan Ahmet Iby the architect Mehmet Aga, in 1616 and he finished the work in 7 years. The sixth minarets is said to signify Sultan Ahmet’s position as the sixth Ottoman ruler of Istanbul and their sixteen balconies; his position for 16th in line from Osman, the founder of dynasty. It is world famous for the interior wall decorations with blue Iznik tiles from the 17th century and great look of the building; a mountainous cascade of leaded domes rippling ground wards while six minarets pierce the sky. It is an active mosque like all the other 2.000 mosque in Istanbul.

Çemberlitaş Turkish Bath (Hamam)

The Çemberlitas Bath is located on Çemberlitas Square on Divanyolu Street situated in the midst of some of Istanbul’s greatest monuments. It is next to the Vezirhan monument erected by Constantine I (324 - 327). The Köprülü Mahmud Pasa complex with its mosque, school and tombs are directly opposite the bath and at its sides are the Vezir Han and the old university building. Also in the near vicinity of the bath are the tomb of Sultan Mahmut II and its treasury, the Köprülü Library, the Atik Pasa Mosque and school and the tomb of Ali Baba.

Hagia Sophia

This huge,brick-colored building standing at the southern size of the square was built in the 6th century. It was converted into a mosque by the Ottomans after the Conquest and is now a museum. In its heyday, the church was regarded as a sublime architectural achievement. The building stands on the sire of two previous churches, one that had been destroyed by earthquake and fire The third and present structure was built at the orders of Emporer Justinian I by Anthemius a mathematician, and Isidore, an architect, geometrician and city planner. The two collaborators obeyed the emperor’s orders splendidly producing a building that inspired awe and wonder. At its dedication in 537 amazement and pride “Soloman, I have surpassed thee”-a reference to the great temple that soloman had built in Jerusalem. In the nearly millennium and a half since its construction, only three churches have been built on scale of Hagia Sophia: St Pauls in London, St Peter’s in Rome, and the Duomo in Milan. Even today, Ayasofya has the power to spellbind even the most hardened skyscraper-blase city-dweller with its grand dimensions. Ever since it was originally constructed in the 6th century, Ayasofya has astounded visitors with the grandeur of its proportions, Justinian is said to have murdered in.

The Grand Bazaar

The world famous Covered Bazaar is owing to its architecture, history, location and sheer variety of merchandise one of Istanbul most significant tourist sites. The bazaar has eight different entrances each of them facing one of the city’s most important historic monuments. In terms of structure, the visitors is confronted by what may at first seem a bewildering a maze of 61 streets. On closer inspection, however it becomes apparent that there is, in fact, a reasonable semblance of order. The streets themselves are arranged on a grid-like, system and traditionally shopkeepers have tended to group themselves. According to the type of goods the sell whether it be jewellery, antique, carpets, cooper or leather goods. Clues as to which area you might be in are often given by the names of the streets of the turban makers for instance, the trades recalled are now mere vestiges of a colorful past. The bazaar can also be known as the center of golden shops.

The Spice Bazaar

The Spice Bazaar is located next to the Flower Market on the banks of the Golden Horn called Makron and Envalos by the Byzantine and Eminönü by the Ottomans. The Spice Bazaar is one of the most characteristic places of Istanbul. Spice Bazaar which is one of the oldest covered bazaars of Istanbul is situated within the complex of Yeni Cami. The Yeni Cami complex which was commissioned by Safiye Sultan to be built and the construction of which started in the year 1591 was completed by Hatice Turhan, Valide Sultan in the year 1633. In the Bazaar which is famous for its herbalists currently dried fruits, delicatessen and various food staff besides conventional products such as natural medicines, spices, flower seeds, scarce plant roots and peels are sold. It is known that the spices sold here are in addition to their consumption as food staff, useful for the treatment of certain diseases. Lately an increase in the number of jewellery shops in the bazaar is being observed. Within the Spice Bazaar there are restaurants with a view over the Golden Horn and Galata Bridge as well. The Bazaar is open from Mondays to Saturdays.

A 12th century stone erected on a rock at the entrance of the Bosphorus by Byzantine Emperor Manuel Komnenos. This tower, which has served as a prison and a light house, became the source of many legends in ancient days. It has recently been opened to the public and hosts concerts and meetings. Story of maiden Tower: according to Turkish Legend a princess was locked up in the tower by her father because of prophecy. The prophecy alerted him saying that his daughter would die by the bite of a snake. The father wanted to protect the princess and put her in a Maiden’s tower. Unfortunately at the end of the story , The princess dies by the snake that was brought to the islet in a basket of grapes.

29 Places of Interest worth Exploring While Walking on Istanbul’s Istiklal Caddesi – Part 2

Earlier we covered the most interesting spots on Istiklal Caddesi between Taksim Square and Galata Lisesi. Today we’ll take you from Galata Square to Tünel, the world’s second-oldest subway.
Once you’ve made it to the end of Istiklal Caddesi, I recommend you either walk back or take the old tram to the halfway point, and start looking for a nice café. Make sure though that it has one or more of these huge (removable) windows and find a table by the street side. Order a drink and enjoy watching the crowds pass by. After half an hour,

you’ll have a great idea what the Istanbul population mix looks like.

Places of Interest on Istiklal Caddesi
St. Antuan or Sant’Antonio di Padova Cathedral: the cathedral is located on the left-hand side, 200 meters away from the Galatasaray Lycée in the direction of Tünel. The cathedral has the largest building and community of the Roman Catholic Church in Istanbul. The first cathedral was built in 1725 by the local Italian community of Istanbul. The building we see today replaced the previous one and was built in the Venetian Neo-Gothic style between 1906 and 1912 by an Istanbul born, Italian architect Giulio Mogneri. The cathedral is run by Italian priests. On different days of the week the masses are in Italian, English and Turkish.
Odakule İş Merkezi (Business Centre Tower): located at no. 142, on the right, you’ll find the Odakule İş Merkezi. The building was built by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. The building houses several holdings, companies and an art gallery. It is commonly used as a reference point to find an address around the area easily. Given its age, the tower is currently among Istanbul’s ugliest, making it hard to miss. Just in case, look for no. 142.
Beyoğlu İş Merkezi Passage: across the Business Centre Tower, you will see the entrance of the Beyoğlu İş Merkezi, which is recently renovated/span>

passage with shops and offices. Right next to it you can find the entrance to the Midpoint café and restaurant.
Consulate-General of Netherlands: the consulate is located on the left-hand side, at no. 197.
Consulate-General of Russia: located at no. 443, 200 meters further than the Consulate-General of the Netherlands, again on the left.
Consulate-General of Sweden: walk approximately 500 meters further than the Consulate-General of Netherlands, look for no 497.
Tunnel (Tünel): 150 meters further than the Consulate-General of Sweden the street makes a small curve to the right. That’s it. You are at the end of Istiklal Caddesi where you can see the entrance of Tunnel (Tünel). It connects Beyoğlu with Karaköy.
Places of Interest just off Istiklal Caddesi
Terkoz Çıkmazı: look for a small street across the Consulate-General of the Netherlands called Terkoz Çıkmazı. It’s a dead end street where you can find gazillions of textiles goods for quite cheap prices. However, look thoroughly for small defects and always remember to bargain.
French Palace (Fransız Sarayı): take Yeni Çarşı Street which goes down the hill next to the Galatasaray Lycée. Look for the Nur-i Ziya Street, the second street on your left. On your left you will see Fransız Sarayı (French Palace). The land belongs to France for more than four centuries. The building on the land was built in 1839. Today its the Istanbul residence of the French Ambassador.
Consulate-General of Italy: follow Yeni Çarşı Street which goes down the hill next to Galatasaray Lycée and walk approximately 600 meters. Take Tomtom Kaptan Street on your right. You will see Consulate-General of Italy at no 15, on your left.
Pera Palace Hotel: follow the alley next to the Odakule Business Centre Tower, which will connect you to Meşrutiyet Street. Turn left at the point where you connect to the street and follow the street. Before the street ends on your left you will see the Pera Palas Otel which is the oldest European hotel of Turkey. The hotel was built in 1892 in order to host the passengers of the Orient Express. Agatha Christie wrote her most famous novel, Murder on the Orient Express, in this hotel, and her room is still conserved as a museum.
Leb-i Derya: take Kumbaracı Yokuşu Street down the hill on your left just after you pass the Russian Consulate. 150 Meters down the hill on your right you will see the fabulous Leb-i Derya (no. 57/6).
Tarık Zafer Tunaya Kültür Merkezi: follow the Şahkulu Bostan Street on your left next to the Consulate-General of Sweden. On your right you will see the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Kültür Merkezi (no 8). This former municipality wedding building is since 1993 used as a cultural center with a multi-purpose conference room, movie theatre, exhibition room and a theatre stage.
German School Istanbul (Özel Alman Lisesi): take Şahkulu Bostan Street and go passed Tarık Zafer Tunaya Kültür Merkezi. You will reach the Özel Alman Lisesi or Deutsche Schule Istanbul located at no. 20. The school started in 1868 with only 24 students. It has raised a lot of important people for Turkish society, among which journalists, musicians, artist, actors and politicians.
Galata Mevlevihanesi: take the Galip Dede Street just after you pass the Consulate-General of Sweden. You will see the Galata Mevlevihanesi at no. 15. This dervish lodge, which is also used as a museum, was opened to the public in 1975.
Galata Tower (Galata Kulesi): follow the Galip Dede Street just after you pass the Consulate-General of Sweden and keep on walking for approximately 500 meters down the hill. You will reach an intersection of streets, with on your right the Galata Tower which was first built in 1384 by Genoese. The cone-capped tower provides a magnificent view of the Golden Horn.

en permanence a l`interieur!)
le park frequente a 90% par les militaires...30 minutes de taksim.
les tuyaux pour vraiment approcher et draguer les heteros
qui sont d`une differente culture de la votre.

les 2 sites de construction ou des mecs par dizaine attendent de l`action!
les deux hotels gay digne de ce nom, et seulement un est tenu par un gay.
bref, la liste contient 30 pages que j`ai elabore au fil du temps!
Une chose est sure, c`est que les qq adresses dans les sites gay D`istanbul
sont completement caduque, les 7 hammams par exemple que l`on voient sur
la plupart des sires sont obsolete! il n`y a plus d`action gay chez eux.
